Driver training and lessons
Questions about the training
The complete driving course at Vision Plus costs $999 + tax (Regular Package) or $1,199 + tax (Vision+ Program). In addition, there are SAAQ fees: approximately $87 for the learner’s permit, $12 for the written exam, and $30 for the road test. The total cost of obtaining your license is therefore between $1,130 and $1,330, depending on the package you choose.
The program spans a minimum of 13 months, as required by the SAAQ. Phase 1 (theory) lasts at least 28 days, followed by Phases 2 through 4, which combine theory and road sessions. The SAAQ theory exam can be taken 10 months after obtaining the learner's permit, and the road test 2 months later. Most of our students complete the process in 13 to 18 months.
You can register at the driving school and start theory classes before turning 16. However, you must be 16 years old when you go to the SAAQ to obtain your learner's permit. We recommend registering about one month before your 16th birthday to get a head start.
The learner's permit allows you to drive accompanied by someone who has held their license for at least 2 years. It is valid for 18 months. After passing the SAAQ road test, you receive the probationary license, which allows you to drive alone, with zero alcohol tolerance and a maximum of 4 demerit points. After 2 years without any offence, you receive your regular driver's license.
Yes. Vision Plus Driving School holds a certificate of recognition from the SAAQ for each of its four locations. Our program complies with the Road Safety Education Program (PESR) and allows you to obtain your Class 5 driver’s license.

If you fail the exam, you can retake it by scheduling a new appointment on SAAQclic. A retake fee applies (approximately $30). We also offer refresher courses starting at $60 + tax per session to help you address the areas where you struggled during the exam.
