A driving school in your own town, and why it matters
The driving course is the same everywhere in Quebec: the SAAQ sets its content. What changes from one school to another is everything else. Here is how to choose when you live in Sainte-Thérèse or the Basses-Laurentides.

To obtain a Class 5 licence in Quebec, you must take the driving course at a school recognized by the SAAQ. The content of the Road Safety Education Program is set by the SAAQ itself, and it breaks down like this:
Twelve 2-hour modules covering the rules of the road, road signs and driving behaviours.
Fifteen on-road sessions with an instructor, in the real traffic of your own region.
The 12 modules are spread over 4 sequential phases, each with a minimum duration set by the SAAQ.
You must have held the learner's licence for at least 10 months for the knowledge test, and 12 months for the road test.

Practical consequence: be wary of any school promising a "faster" path. The minimum phase durations and the learner's licence waiting periods are regulatory. No serious school can get around them, and the ones that hint otherwise are mostly telling you how they handle everything else.
What actually changes from one school to another
Since the program is identical, your choice comes down to execution. Here are the criteria that make a measurable difference over 39 hours of training spread across more than a year:
The advantage of a school located in Sainte-Thérèse itself
